Patrice had been putting off earning her GED® credential for years but decided it was time to accomplish this goal so she could better herself for her family and career.
She chose to earn her GED® through the GEDWorks™ program, which she ended up really liking. Her favorite part of the program was her student advisor who helped her along the way.
“As soon as I contacted my advisor she was there, no hesitation. It was nice to have that support. She’d help me with practice tests, which gave me the confidence to take the jump and go for the official test.
Patrice also had a big support system at work and at home.
“My supervisor has always been in my corner and was helping me prepare for college. My family had been supportive since day one. I don’t know what I would without these guys.”
Patrice would also recommend the GEDWorks™ program to her coworkers.
“I would recommend it because of the support. They want you to succeed and will take the steps with you so that can be accomplished.”
Now that Patrice has her credential she wants to attend college and earn her bachelor’s in psychology.
“I want to become a social worker so that I can work with at risk youth and support them through their journey in life. I’m now on my way to that goal.”
