Janette’s children were her main motivation behind earning her GED® credential.
“I decided to take the GED® because one day my son said he couldn’t do his homework. I felt like I couldn’t tell him he could do it if I didn’t have my diploma. I want them to stay in school and graduate high school, unlike me.”
Janette was able to finally earn her diploma through the GEDWorks™ program, which she loved because it helped her balance her busy schedule.
“I liked that you can work at your own pace and don’t have to put a lot of hours into it every week. That helps a lot with having a family and full-time job.”
Janette also appreciated all the help from her student advisor who helped her through her GED® journey.
“My GED® advisor was amazing! She believed that I could pass, even when I thought for sure I would fail. She helped me with any questions and set things up for me that I wasn’t able to do myself.”
Janette would recommend the GEDWorks™ program to her co-workers because of its benefits.
“It really works to help you get your GED®. Even if you fail a test, it gives you the material to work on the parts you’re having trouble with.”
Janette plans on continuing her educational journey and hopes to become a physical therapist assistant one day.
