Celina decided to take the GED® test because she knew she wanted to further her education and didn’t want to wait any longer. She was supposed to graduate high school in 2016, but life got in the way.
“I worked a full time job so I knew going back to school the following year was not a true option for me. In the end, I decided to get my GED®.”
Through the process Celina had a lot of people motivating her including her family, friends, and co-workers.
“Everybody was very helpful, every step of the way. Earning my credential was so important to me because I made a promise to my grandma and grandpa before they passed away. I promised them that I would further my education and be the best that I can be in life.”
Celina loved the GEDWorks™ program and how it was so accommodating for students. She only faced one challenge along the way.
“They help in every way that they can. The only challenge I faced was trying to find time to study. But my GED® advisor would email me almost every day to make sure that I got studying in, even if it was just a little bit.”
Celina’s advisor helped her achieve her goal by being her backbone through the process. Their communication was strong and she always answered her questions.
“I would recommend the GEDWorks™ program to my coworkers because it’s a fantastic. Every step of the way, they made it easy. Any questions or concerns I had, they were answered right away. It was truly a fantastic experience for me and I hope people take up the offer when it’s available to them.”
Now the Celina has earned her diploma she plans to start looking at different colleges to pursue either social work, teaching, or pediatric nursing.
“I love children. I love working with them and watching them grow. It is truly an amazing experience. My goal is to enroll in college no later than spring of 2018.”
